Terms and community rules
Ditto for iPhone (an iMessage app) · Effective October 24, 2026
The short version. Ditto is for ages 13 and up. Be kind, keep it friendly, only send pics people are ok with, and never pressure anyone. There's no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users: a person reviews every report within 24 hours, removes what breaks the rules and turns Ditto off on the phone that sent it.
The ditto rules
Everyone agrees to these in the app ("be kind. keep it friendly.") before their first ditto.
- Be kind. No bullying, harassment, hate or threats, and nothing that targets someone for who they are.
- Keep it friendly. No nudity or sexual content of anyone. Sexual images of anyone under 18 are illegal, and we report them to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
- Only pics people are ok with. Don't send a photo of someone who didn't say yes, and don't share anyone's photo without them. That's why saving a flip needs both people's ok.
- No pressure. Passing is always ok. Never push, guilt, threaten or trick anyone into sending a photo.
Also not allowed: spam and scams, anything illegal, violence or gore, content that encourages self-harm, and pretending to be someone else.
Reports and what we do
- You can report any ditto from the … menu, even one you didn't answer. You can also block someone so their dittos don't open on your phone.
- A person on our team reviews every report within 24 hours.
- If a ditto breaks these rules, we remove it for both people and turn Ditto off on the phone that sent it. Ditto doesn't have accounts, so a ban is tied to that phone's copy of Ditto.
- We report apparent child sexual exploitation to NCMEC and may share information with law enforcement when the law requires it or someone's safety is at risk.
- If you think we got a ban wrong, write to dittoapp@proton.me.
Who can use Ditto
Ditto is for ages 13 and up, and it uses Apple's Declared Age Range to keep out anyone younger. If you're under 18, please read these terms with a parent or guardian.
Your photos
- Your photos are yours. By sending one, you let us store it and show it to the other person in that ditto, only to run Ditto, as the privacy policy describes.
- Photos are deleted on a short schedule: 2 days if nobody answers, 7 days after both are in, right away if you unsend. Reported dittos are kept until a person reviews them, or longer when the law requires.
- Only send photos you have the right to send.
- Saving a flip makes a video and a card on your phone, and only after you both say ok. Once saved, it's on your phone; be kind about where it goes.
The app and Apple
Ditto is licensed to you under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, and these terms add the rules above. Round Trip Studios, not Apple, is responsible for Ditto and its content and support.
The fine print
Ditto is provided as is. We work hard to keep it running and safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. To the extent the law allows, Round Trip Studios isn't liable for indirect or consequential damages from using Ditto. We may change or stop parts of Ditto, and we may turn it off for anyone who breaks these terms.
Changes and contact
If these terms change, we'll update this page and its date. If the rules change in a way that matters, the app will ask you to agree again. Questions: dittoapp@proton.me. Round Trip Studios, United States.
